Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery
Hernia is weakness/ defect in abdominal wall. Common examples are umbilical hernia, inguinal hernia and incisional hernia. They present as visible bulges/ swelling in abdomen. Laparoscopic mesh repairs are performed for quick recovery and to prevent recurrences. Dr Praveen specialises in hernia repairs of all types both laparoscopic and open.
Laparoscopic Gall bladder surgery
Gallstones present with recurrent and at times severe upper abdominal pain. Timely laparoscopic removal of gallbladder with stones can prevent pain, jaundice and pancreatitis ( due to slipped gallstones into common bile duct). Dr Praveen has performed many complex laparoscopic cholecystectomies for infected gallbladders and helped many patients recover quickly.
Laparoscopic Appendicectomy
Appendicitis if not treated at the right time can lead to complications like rupture and peritonitis with patient becoming sick. Early laparoscopic intervention can heal patients. Dr Praveen has handled many patients with appendicitis related complications like rupture and abscess (pus) formation.
Proctology : ( Anorectal and Colon related diseases)
Common anal related diseases like hemorrhoids(piles), anal fissure and anal fistula . Dr Praveen is well versed with both conventional treatments for complex cases as well as latest treatments like stapling and laser treatments for piles, fissure and fistula.
He is also expert in handling cases with chronic constipation and colon related diseases ( inflammatory/ infective). He is actively involved in complex laparoscopic colon surgeries for Rectal prolapse and Colon cancers.
General Surgery
Dr Praveen also handles general surgical work like removal of swellings anywhere in the body ( Lipoma/ sebaceous cyst/ granuloma/ corns /enlarged lymph nodes etc). He has been trained in removal of diseases of the neck like enlargement of thyroid , lymph nodes and cysts.
Infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue like cellulitis, necrotizing fascitis, infected cysts are also taken care of. He helps with diagnosis and treatment of breast related diseases like lumps/ cysts and tumors.
He also operates to treat conditions like phimosis/ balanoposthitis(Circumcision), frenulum breve( tight frenulum) and does vasectomy. He also takes of trauma/ injury related conditions
Complex Laparoscopic Surgeries
Dr Praveen and his team also handle complex laparoscopic procedures like laparoscopic fundoplication, laparoscopic splenectomy and laproscopic pancreatic resections.
He is trained in endoscopy and diagnosis plus treatment of gastrointestinal ailments.
